Bisindoles are reported to be significantly bioactive as, for example, coronary dilator ¹, plant hormone,^2a,b hallucinogen,³ antibacterial,⁴ DNA-damaging, ⁵ antiserotonin activity, strong affinity for somatostatin and neuropeptide Y receptors in recepter-binding assays ⁶ and anticarcinogen ^7a,b. We offer to our customers a combinatorial kit of 3-(2'-nitrovinyl)indoles for synthesis of bioactive 2,2-bis(indolyl)ethylamines (BIEAs) by a new sequence of tandem Michael addition-elimination-Michael addition reactions ⁸.
